These are all of my pictures from week one! I'm going to take photographs of my mentor and co-workers when they aren't so busy, but the first one is my office, the second one is a map of our water supplies and where they go, the third is a better picture of my set up, the second row is just some stuff on my desk, my laptop has what I was researching which is California Droughts. The coffee cup is always in my office and they're very generous with their coffee machine so I'll make a hot chocolate or hot tea when it's raining outside to keep me warm! The filing cabniet is from week one of my files. And the last one is just a picture I took because I thought the view was really nice from where the sun was coming in, it was the only angle I could get that kind of effect so that's why I'm kind of in it too.
These are going to be my photos from week 2, the first is my required selfie, the second is an "after" shot of my filing cabinet. It's kind of crazy how much research I did in between my first and fourth day. The last picture on the second row is all of the papers organized in a binder that is going to be my index for my research project. It's a 3" and ridiculously heavy. The last photo on the first row is my print out calendar, I check off the days as they go and on the 18th it says "2:00 Joanne" for her site visit, and the one on the bottom says "last day". I already talked to my mentor today about other things I'm going to be doing and she told me there'd be more scheduling involved. The first picture on the second row is just my legal pad and laptop since they have dozens of them around here. The middle picture on the second row is my Google drive on my non-HTH account with my notes, outlines, and other documents regarding internship..
The first two pitures is the lunch room, inside there are many snacks and drinks available to everyone in the office. The book shelf has books on California's environment (those are the colorful ones), and the dark green with gold is all of the codes & laws. I'm actually curious about a few of them, but it's crazy to me how many there are, even on the picture below. The picture in the middle is of the lobby or waiting area for clients, and the last picture is of their conference room.
The first picture is even more of the laws & codes, the second picture is the first thing you see when you walk in which is their company name. The third photo is the skyline past 4:30 on January 9th, it looked really pretty and I took it from the conference room window, and the fourth picture is me on the morning of the 10th.
The first picture is taken from a different guest office in the office, the third is taken from the same room looking below from the sixteenth floor, and the last three on the bottom are just somethings they had framed. The Union Tribune is "San Diego Authority Wins Key Water Building", the second two are awards the company has won in 2010 and 2012.
The first and last pictures are what is directly outside of the NBC building which is Horton Plaza and Horton Park. They both have spots with food and things to eat (including little Crepe carts and the occasional food truck) and both places are where a lot of us in the office go alone or together for lunches. The last picture on the top row is the suite sign and number of my office, and it's just something I see and pass everyday. The following picture on the second row is the screen for the elevator, there's 22 floors and the building is extremely nice on the inside as well as the outside especially at night when it's lit up. The picture in the middle of the last row is a painting I pass everyday of the American flag and I just thought it was pretty, and since I see it everyday I figured it'd be worth including here.
The first picture is right in front of the NBC building, it's the U.S. Grant and it always just looks so cool to me when I walk by it, and the last one is some flowers in the lobby of the NBC building. I sit in front of them every night before I get picked up and decided to take a picture of them.
The first and last photos are just of downtown, the second one on the top is the building as I was walking up to it. The third photo is the Bill of Rights in one of the offices, the jersey is signed by Drew Brees and I pass it every day and thought it was cool so I took a picture. The one of me on the bottom is with a California Code book on water that I was reading for my research. The two on the bottom in the middle is the copy room and a water map above the printer.
The first picture is my selfie for today reading one of the code books and the second is when I passed Spreckles Theatre on the way to work.
This is my time sheet for the first three weeks of internship.
The first three pictures are of the food from the past two days, the office kindly ordered a ton of food from Luna Grill on my last full day which was yesterday!! (I'm going to a family event up north & had to leave early) The first two are from this morning of a Trader Joe's cake I brought & Cuban bakery snacks Ryan brought in. Following that is my climate change binder that's completed, and sitting on one of the shelfs proudly next to many others! I'm so glad to have had an amazing past two final days, and overall grateful for a truly extraordinary and unforgettable experience!
