I'm thankful for my mentor Chris for bringing me back to the company and giving me another riveting assignment my second time around. Additionally I did notice a gain in responsibility including talking to her colleagues and receiving a company email and computer access over the duration of my internship. I'd also thank Bee & Liz for being great co-workers and always talking to me throughout the day or grabbing lunch with me, it's always a pleasure to continue to get to know everyone so much better and I really will miss being in an environment this welcoming. Being in a small but tight-knit workplace was meaningful to me because it was something I learned that I'd like to have when I start working in the future.. I'll write my thank you note to the whole office before my last day.

The experience at my internship like the first time I was here helped me to better understand the topics I am interested. This time around has been especially helpful since I'll be going to law school in only a few years and it's helpful to get people's advice who have already done it and can steer me in the right direction. The college I have selected to attend has been a topic of conversation here, including encouragement from the people who are familiar with the school and believe it to be a great fit for me. With the actual work and internship itself, it continues to solidify that I do want to go into law and that I'm excited to do so. I do need to find what field of law I'm interested in exactly but working in this field in a firm like this definitely wouldn't be the worst! I do enjoy what I'm working on and learning as the content is very investing and holds importance because things like the environment and clean water sources are such vital things to our communities and all communities around us.
I made my mind map specifically about my journey this far in working towards a career in law, and talked about my experience both before and during externship and how my time at my office both senior and junior year has impacted me and my decisions.
Project based learning in general has made it a smooth transition to work on projects in my office. I just learned how to manage and complete projects all four years of high school which is how that transferred over. The projects are similar because they deal with real world issues and topics, but differ due to the work environment and the fact that I'm doing it independently. I actually like managing myself though and being able to have my own assignment as opposed to having to work in a small or large groups and divi up jobs and responsibilities, because usually that's even more difficult to manage rather than just being responsible for you.
Some challenges I've had this past week involved wrapping up my college class while also trying to schedule multiple events at my internship including scheduling interviews with people who can provide a more professional opinion to assist me on my project, scheduling my presentation for the office, and continuing to do through research. To balance it all out I've created digital and printed calendars, posted notes and reminders in my office to make sure I stay on track and don't forget the appointments for interviews I have scheduled, and now that my college class has wrapped up I'm sure that'll be a large contributing factor as well. My mentors and co-workers have supported me just by being available to talk to, after awhile the reading and writing up information for my presentation does get a little mentally tiring, because reiterating the information in my own words and writing can be a challenge. But they're all very friendly and it's nice to have a casual conversation in between working about TV shows or current events in between all of us working on our own very fast-paced projects, cases, scheduling/management, etc. I am glad I chose to come back though because they've been very flexible with me leaving early for class, and have made the materials I need to create a strong presentation very accessible, including setting me up on their computer and email system, giving me contact info. for professional and legal insight, and working with me to schedule a presentation date.
